The first store was opened on Broadway in New York City. In 1853, Charles Tiffany assumed manage and renamed the company Tiffany & Co. Tiffany is best know for its jewelry, silverware and the “little blue box,” and has been involved in significant landmarks in both industries, including the use of sterling silver as a standard for flatware and the Tiffany setting in jewelry. The store was featured in a movie with Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in 1961.
