Red Perfume

Red perfume was created by Giorgio of Beverly Hills. Initially, Giorgio of Beverly Hills was the brain child of Fred and Gale Hayman and they had a high fashion boutique in Beverly Hills, California. They were primarily into clothing lines for the wealthy who abound in California but in 1981 they decided to branch out into the perfume industry.

Their initial olfactory offering was called Giorgio. The packaging was like no other because it sported white and yellow stripes and the bottle was a curvy womanly shape. Nowadays, when one sees the distinctive white and yellow stripes of the box, they immediately know it is Giorgio of Beverly hills perfume. Such is the acclaim that this perfume garnered. In 1986, Avon bought the right to Giorgio of Beverly Hills perfumes. They went on to make more including Red perfume and Wings perfume.

Giorgio’s Perfume Collections Features

Today, all Giorgio of Beverly Hills perfumes are under Procter and Gamble. Red perfumes consist of several floral essences and others. The ingredients of Red cologne and perfume are Osmanthus, Rose de mai, cherry, carnation, ambery cedar and patchouli. Osmanthus is a yellow Japanese flower that gives the perfume the smell of apricot, plum and cherry. The smell of the Osmanthus is very light and pleasing. Rose de Mai or May Rose usually blooms in Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. It lends the perfume a very light lychee scent that blends well with the other essences. The cherry scent gives the perfume a very deep, sweet smell. The scent is very unique and makes the perfume distinctive.

Carnation gives the perfume a spicy, warm floral element and is very elegant to smell while ambery cedar has the mixed scent of balsams, resins and woods. They are undertones in the fragrance that captures the woodsy smell. Patchouli on the other hand, serves as the base of the Red cologne. The patchouli smell is warm, woodsy and mossy, all very natural and earthy. It makes Red cologne smell very sensual and adds mystery and depth to the scent.

During its promotion and advertisement, Red perfume free samples were given out with other Giorgio of Beverly Hills fragrances. Its bottle is cylindrical with some facets and the top is gold tone. The packaging is a bright red with the name done in gold in the front.
